This is Temporary but WE are not.

Back on Campus

Our Voice - August 21, 2012 - 0 Comments

New Clothes.  New Schedule.  New locker.  New teachers.  Same old scene.  Sure, teachers will have to deal with an overwhelming amount of tank tops and yoga pants this year and the school yearbook will be saturated with tons of people wearing glasses with no lenses, but behind the facelift, lies the same longing to know and be known.  At what point will you embrace the truth this year?  The truth that you are called to know God and to be know by Him.  That knowing God will give you the peace you can’t create for yourself. Being known by him will light a path you will enjoy walking because he has paved it for you.  Making him known is your greater purpose this year.  It’s not to find a purpose, it’s to claim your purpose in the midst of your life now.  Most of us wait for tragedy, apathy, complacency, or depravity to set in before we reclaim God through a retreat, conference, or church service.  We lose ourselves on campus and try to find ourselves at church.  What if this year is different?  What if we don’t forget?  What if we step back on campus with purpose, resolve, and the power of the Holy Spirit? What if we claimed Christ when we stepped on campus?  Make your voice known every day this week and pray this each morning as you step on campus:

Christ be with me, Christ within me,
Christ behind me, Christ before me,
Christ beside me, Christ to win me,
Christ to comfort and restore me,
Christ beneath me, Christ above me,
Christ in quiet, Christ in danger,
Christ in hearts of all that love me,
Christ in mouth of friend and stranger.
                                         -St. Patrick
