Value Three. Create Ways to Mend a Broken World.
Value Three. Create Ways to Mend a Broken World
“He has told you, O man, what is good;
and what does the Lord require of you
but to do justice, and to love kindness,
and to walk humbly with your God?” Micah 6:8
This week’s video is a must watch as it reminds us of who we are serving, and how we are called to serve.
Every Kid is ONE Caring Adult Away From Being a Success Story
Every kid is ONE caring adult away from a success story.
Live this value by creating ways to meet the spiritual, educational, social, physical, and emotional needs of those around us.
The world is broken. It has been since rebellion entered the world and separated humanity from God. Ultimate reconciliation of this broken world comes through Jesus. The beauty of Jesus is that he meets each of us in our mess, carries our burdens, and redeems our stories. So, what is our role in this “fixing of broken stories?” At One21 we want to help reconcile and heal the brokenness we see around us. That means taking personal responsibility to notice others, to be present in their brightest and darkest moments, to carry their burdens with them, and to share Jesus with them. It also means we look for opportunities to propel others into opportunities to live out their God-given passions.
Food for Thought
Do you share God’s heart and care about what He cares about?
Make a list of the things you think are broken in this world. How are you participating in the work of the church to bring hope to one of issues on that list?
Name one person around you who is burdened, isolated, broken, or desperate. What’s one way you can help carry their burden?
Grace and peace to you as you adventure with Jesus this week.
